Ruunara is a distant and hostile land inhabited by numerous creature. This land was once rich and fertile. The rivers were numerous and full of fish, the trees bore fruit in abundance and the climate was like an eternal spring.<\/p>\n

Around fifty years ago, the 7 moons of Sibi aligned in the sky over Ruunara.<\/p>\n

An enormous, incessant magical storm, known as “the Eye” by the natives of Ruunara, took hold of the great sea at the centre of the continent. Since that day, this ancestral land has suffered its share of misfortunes. The climate has become harsher and more uncertain. The land itself has become less fertile over time, making cultivation and harvesting increasingly difficult. River levels began to fall and wild animals became harder and harder to find. The ancient forest to the east of the continent became more sinister, and enemies as yet unknown to the peoples of this world began to appear. The natives call them the “Saarok”. These reptilian creatures pillage and slaughter everything in their path. Captured victims are kept in temporary camps before being taken far to the east, beyond the forbidden forest.<\/p>\n

For as long as they have existed, no Ruunara people have ever heard of them. Not in stories, not in ancient books and writings. No-one has ever crossed these forests. The few brave, or foolish, souls who have dared to enter this sinister forest have never returned alive.<\/p>\n

Every year, their numbers increase and their raids outside the forest become more and more frequent…<\/p>\n

A people of nomadic warriors living in small yurt encampments on the low plains or at the edge of the forest. The Ardann are masters of the art of blacksmithing. On Ruunara, metals are rare and hard to find. The Ardann are well aware of this, which gives them an advantage. The Ardann are powerful and tough warriors, making them a much feared people on Ruunara.<\/p>\n

To play Ruunara, you’ll need a minimum of 4 6-sided dice and a tape measure. To suit everyone, the game’s measurements are expressed in inches and centimetres.<\/p>\n
